When I think of this word ‘Appreciate’, I think of gratitude. The things I appreciate in my life I am grateful for. The dictionary says that appreciation is linked to placing a significant high estimate on something or someone. It also talks about the appreciation or awareness of the dangers that surround us. It goes on to say that to appreciate is to be “sensible of the good qualities of a person, thing or action; to be pleased or grateful for”.
So what do you appreciate? I actually appreciate all that has happened in my life because I have either won from it or learnt from it. I may not have appreciated some things when they were occurring, however looking at them now has given me a sense of appreciation for why they occurred and how I dealt with them. Should we be grateful or appreciate when someone takes from us or hurts us? Maybe not at the time, but I am most grateful for the new boundaries I have developed to make better choices about what I will allow in the future. What about you?
Who do you appreciate? What people came into your life that you are so grateful for? Everything lead us to who we are today. For that I am grateful. All those experiences we went through made us. We always have a choice. Everything in our life was and is a choice. I appreciate and will always be grateful for the opportunity to choose. Do we always make the best choice? I think we do. I think we were meant to experience it all for some reason, to grow, to learn, to rethink and to be who we are.
I also think that the person you may like to appreciate the most is yourself. You were one of a trillion chances of being born. You were the one chosen, so let’s appreciate what we are here for. The more we become grateful and appreciate who we are and what we have, the more the universe will offer us. Are you creating all the circumstances of why you can’t do something or are you only creating circumstances of how you can make things happen in your life?
