With all the diverse people and their faiths now in Australia and the world, Easter must have a totally different representation to every person, and every country. For the Christian Faith, “Easter Sunday is meant to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from his tomb. Easter Sunday is a joyous event in the Christian calendar. Churches are filled with flowers and gold and white decorations, while choirs fill the church halls with the singing of special hymns”. This is the explanation given to those of you who ‘google’ Easter.
For many others that I asked this week it means, holiday fun with the family, giving of chocolates, sharing love and gifts to loved ones, the Easter Show, a break from work, an opportunity to stop and reflect for the year ahead, a chance to clean up my house, bunny rabbits, hot cross buns, picnics.
The general theme I found though was about self and family caring, sharing and giving. Whatever your faith I would imagine that those values may be some of the key ingredients. With all that presents in the world today let’s make Easter time a time to care, share and love all who we come in contact with.
“What do you get when you put a rabbit in hot water”? “A really Hot Cross Bunny”.
Have a Truly Happy Easter
