Webinar coming on January 20 at 12noon by me and the Australian Board of NLP.
Writing books was a great wish of myne and one of those skills I did not know how to put together. This can often lead to fear and may stop us doing what we really want to do. Today I was asked to put on a webinar by the ABNLP on January 20 at 12noon and this was the topic we chose.
Ten years ago I wrote my first book called “Good Grief”. I had six people die in six months and I wondered how people ever get through that much grief in such a short period of time. The messages for that story came through my puppy dog. I sat at the computer for three hours and wrote everything that came to me, then I went to my very first NLP Course with Pip McKay. I was so emotional. It was Pip who suggested I should turn what I had written into a book because of the message that “we can focus on the great times that our pets and people had with us rather than the gap they leave behind”.
Over the course of 10 years I was asked to provide a chapter in many other books like ‘Millionaire Woman, Millionaire You’, ‘Wounded, Survive, Thrive’, ‘Ready Aim Inspired’, and ‘Ready Aim Influence’. Each co-authored book gave me more and more ideas of how we can share our message through books.
I was then asked to write my own books, my own story. This has to be the best clearing ever. How on earth did I do so much? I was exhausted writing it. I divided the book into the programming areas of our life like 0-7, 7-14, etc. I made it an Auto Biography with an aim of Setting and Achieving Goals with an Attitude of ‘You Can Make it Happen Now’. By only thinking that way you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
Then more ideas came to me about sharing information in an NLP Format. I divided my next book called ‘Life After Lupus, Healing Your Immune System’ into the Four Learning Styles of ‘Why’, ‘What’, ‘How’ and ‘What If’. I put three chapters in each of these sections. It was like magic. The material flowed. People loved the book because it was down to earth and in their Learning Style.
The most recent book ‘Create Confident Kids’ has been equally popular. This time I used the Alphabet to structure the information and used the Learning Styles in each chapter. I then spoke openly about the use of NLP concepts when dealing with children of any age. I have a dream that if more teachers and parents know about these concepts that we may be able to assist more children growing up in the future to be empowered and make great choices for themselves.
I am already researching my next book ‘Age is an Attitude’ which I will design in the Learning Styles again. I believe NLP has assisted me in every book I have written. I also believe that as a trainer there are many ways to get the information across and books are still a very popular training option that have the capacity to educate many more people than classroom training.
I look forward to sharing this information with you very soon on the ABNLP Webinar 20th January at 12noon. I will send out more information and details soon. This webinar will be recorded.
