You were born brilliant. Yes you were. You were a gurgly happy baby with no inhibitions, a positive outlook on what was ahead and open to learning all you could so you could achieve and be, do and have whatever was to come your way.
THEN life happened. You began walking and talking and the “NO” and “DON’T” words began flying from all directions. You quickly learnt that your “Brilliance” had “Boundaries”…or so it seemed.
Paulo Coelho writes in his book “The Alchemist” that “Whenever we do something that fills us with enthusiasm, we are following our personal calling”. He goes on to say that there are four obstacles that dampen our dream of brilliance.
- That everything we want to do is impossible (the “No’s and don’t confirm this in our mind)
- That LOVE can be a motivator and an inhibitor. He says that while we know what we want to do, we become afraid of hurting those around us by abandoning everything in order to fulfil OUR dream. I remember this part when I began this amazing journey.
- That we develop a FEAR of DEFEATS that we will meet on the path. The secret of life is to fall down 7 times and get up 8. “We who fight for our dreams suffer far more when it doesn’t work out, because we cannot fall back on old excuses.
- The GUILT of getting what we want may lead us into thinking we don’t deserve it. Oscar Wild said “Each man kills the thing he loves”. The mere possibility of getting what we want fills the soul of an ordinary person with guilt. We seem to forget about the obstacles we overcame and instead focus on the others around who are not making it happen.
This would be the number one LIMITING BELIEF in the world so I know it effects many people as I seem to be doing lots of clearings around “I am not good enough” OR “I do not deserve”.
Joe Dispenza in his book “Evolve Your Brain” says that at this point questioning our brilliance becomes as automatic as the skills of becoming brillianct like learning to walk, cycle a bike, ride a horse, or type a sentence. How many times did we attempt to walk, fell down and got up again?
FOCUS and ATTENTION is the key. The more focus and attention we give anything, and repeat it, we set up neural pathways, just like your parents did when teaching you to dress, eat, walk etc. These neural pathways then become familiar and thus easier. THIS WORKS FOR THE GOOD AND THE BAD.
TRANSFORMING YOUR NEW BRILLIANCE is as simple as you deciding on a NEW IDEA and focusing on it so you activate a new neural network. Paying attention and focusing on this allows you to make new brilliant levels of your mind. How cool is that. REPETITION is the key.
As we build new models of who we want to become, we can use mental rehearsal to build the pathways and circuits to facilitate new levels of mind. When we repeat and focus on this NEW model of ourselves constantly, we will allow the pathway to be “hardwired”. Old behaviour will gradually fade, allowing only the new brilliant you to be transformed.
TRANSFORMING BRILLIANCE is no different to transforming sickness into health or poverty into wealth. SO WHY DON”T WE CHANGE? ….because we allow old habits to be magnets and draw us back to old behaviours.
KNOWLEDGE, INSTRUCTION and FEEDBACK are three keys to you Transforming Your Brilliance, says Joe Dispenza.
